Women's Economic Empowerment through Co-operative Farming, Vocational Training & Business Development

Geographical Area Covered:

Initially, eleven villages adjacent to Shanti Bhavan in Hosur Taluk in Krishnagiri District and neighbouring villages of Karnataka state are covered.

Type of Beneficiaries:

  1. Preference will be given to poor women with small children and to those of childbearing age, widows and single women.
  2. Poor women whose families do not own land.
  3. Poor women whose family incomes do not exceed 150% of the poverty level.
  4. Poor women who display interest in earning/making a living (income generation) and are prepared to work for a minimum of 4 hours each day.
  5. Poor women with low literacy
  6. Very young children of women participants.
  7. Families of women participants.
  8. Business entrepreneurs within the community.
