White Paper (status as of January 2000)

A "white paper" based on the recommendations of the Bangalore Conference on Lead Poisoning has been prepared by an executive committee of the conference, chaired by The George Foundation. The committee members include representatives from several international organizations and major scientific institutions. The paper offers an implementation plan for the prevention and treatment of lead poisoning in developing countries. Starting November 1999, it is being submitted to policy makers in several countries for their action. Along with the recently published book containing the proceedings of the International Conference on Lead Poisoning Prevention and Treatment, Bangalore, India, this paper is the most comprehensive document available to policy-makers on the subject.
